    Today in my AICE media class we started to edit our music video. First we filmed Tuesday the majority of our video. As said in my filming blog we went to Reese’s house. Then on Wednesday, we stayed after school for half an hour to finish filming. Since we had to use one of the clips from Tuesday we had to film the beginning after everything else. So, we filmed the beginning and end of the music video yesterday in our schools media center. The scene was supposed to take place in a class so that’s why we filmed in our media center. When we got to class today Reese came in a little late due to personal problems. She got to class at about 8:10 which was about 30 minutes after class started. Once she got to class we started right away since we now had less time. All the videos were on Reese’s phone because we didn’t like the camera quality of the class camera. As a result, we unanimously decided to use her phone. So we airdropped all the videos to Jame’s laptop. We had a little trouble figuring out how to import it but we eventually figured it out. Once we imported all the clips to iMovie we began.
    We first added all the clips into the first slot on the editing software. Reese then said that I would be better to add the song before started to edit so we could match up the words with our singing. James knee how to convert the audio to mp3 so we let him take care of that and then import it. We had to download the clean version of the song which didn’t include the instrumental beginning. Because of this we had to download the real song for the beginning part and then trim it. Once it was imported I lined up the song with our singing and trimmed the opening part of the song. We then stared to trim and edit the clips of the videos. Since I have worked with iMovie many times, I mostly editing the clips. We inserted different parts of each clip so that it would cut between each other. It made the video more interesting so that it wasn’t one background the whole time. We all put in our ideas while I enforced what they said. While they were saying their ideas I would carry it out on the computer since I knew how to do it.
    Due to it being our first day editing we did not have enough time to finish. We only got to trim and add in the music for the most part. We didn’t add any transitions yet. Since this is due Monday we will have to finish it outer the weekend. However we don’t know exactly when we are going to finish it. Because James can’t get together with us today or Friday and I can’t do it over the weekend. We are going to try to figure out how to share it so we can both edit it but we are not sure how to. If we are able to however, we will FaceTime so that we all agree on decisions made about the editing. If we can’t share it we might have to get together and do it in person. However due to the time limit James might have to do it on his laptop while FaceTiming us. We still have to figure out what we will do but those are our ideas of what might happen.

Last filming blog

    Today is December 2nd, the Monday after thanksgiving break. During break my group and I filmed only one day. Due to different complications including spending time with family, vacation, and sports it was hard to get together to film. However we managed to all come together on Saturday. We planned to film from around 9 am to 12 am but the night before our group mate Reese had asked if we can go to her house early at 8 am because she had to leave at 10 am. She had prior plans that she didn’t know about until that day. This only allotted us enough time to film one scene. The day that we were supposed to plan both of my group mates were absent so we didn’t plan properly. This caused us to not be ready on Saturday. Instead of getting right to filming we had to figure out what we were going to do. Also, we didn’t realize the camera was dead so when we went to go film, we tried turning it on and realized it was dead. As a result, we went back in Reese’s room and planned more while it was charging. To plan we looked at the lyrics and figured out what we could do. We only planned one good section but we weren’t able to enforce it because the camera was charging. Reese then suggested that we go out and film on her phone and just wing the video until we have more of a plan. We wanted to get at least something done so it wasn’t a waste of time.
    By Reese’s house there was an open area, so we took her dads truck and went to the open lot. Since Reese didn’t have her license, James drove us to the open area. Before we got to the “park” we went to Reese’s cousin’s house to get a basketball to use for the video. Her cousin also happened to live right by her so we didn’t have to drive anywhere. So, we walked to their house really quick, grabbed the basketball and then went and drove to the lot.  Once we got there, we backed into the area so that we could film on the tailgate of the car. First Reese filmed James singing the lyrics and doing random dance moves with it. Next, I filmed Reese singing and dancing to the lyrics. Reese dances as a hobby so she could improvise very well. Due to that reason we filmed her three times in different areas of the truck so we could get a good clip. Reese also filmed me once but I can’t improvise very well and I didn’t know all the lyrics so I didn’t do very well. By the time we finished it was around 10 o’clock so we started to head back to the house. Once we got back to the house we looked over some of the videos. We all agreed that it didn’t turn out that good so we decided to plan another day to film.
    We are filming tomorrow again at Reese’s house. We are going straight from school. I will drive Reese and James will meet us at her house. So we don’t waste time again, Reese and I planned more of what we are going to film. We are going to film different parts of the song not in order. Whatever we can think of for that part of the song we will film and then in the editing process we will put it all together. We have a set plan for the beginning and end but we will have to plan the middle as we go. Along with filming tomorrow we will also have to say after school for a little bit on Wednesday. We have to film the beginning on Wednesday because we need to get the clips on Tuesday to put those in the video on Wednesday. Hopefully we will be able to finish filming tomorrow because we will have more time and we have more of a plan. If we don’t finish however, we have till next Monday because we only have our media class twice this week. As a result, we aren’t as rushed as were if it was due Friday. We still want to finish filming so that we aren’t stressing when it comes to editing.
